In an age where the social climate where the landscape for marginalized communities are shifting -- in both positive and negative manners -- Benedict Cumberbatch has come forward to present his stance on a pressing issue confronting Hollywood and beyond pay equality.

Cumberbatch is attempting to work his magic and his powerful platform to change the way women are compensated in Hollywood. In aninterview with Radio Times magazine, Cumberbatch stated, "Equal pay and a spot at the table are the central components of feminism.

Tha Avengers: Infinity War performer added, "Look in the quotas. Request what women are being paid, and state: 'If she is not paid the same as the guys, I am not doing it.'

The Academy Award-nominated celebrity doesn't just talk. His production company, SunnyMarch is almost run by women and aims to concentrate on more female-focused dramas.

"I'm proud that [spouse] Adam [Ackland] and I are the only men in our company; our next film is a female story with a feminine lens about motherhood, at a time of ecological disaster," explained Cumberbatch. "If it is focused around my name, to get shareholders, then we can use that focus to get a raft of female jobs. Half the audience is feminine!"

Cumberbatch stars at Patrick Melrose which debuts tonight on Showtime.
